What is the learning center?

The Upper Learning Center (ULC) is an exciting place of learning and support. It is constantly filled with students from fifth and sixth grade in need of academic support.
Mrs. McGuire and Mrs. C run the upper learning center. Classroom support and pull-out services are provided for students in need. A variety of services are offered through the ULC including social skills, SAI Math and ELA classes, behavior interventions, reading interventions, and study skills. The ULC uses a collaborative teaching model in combination with pull-out services for specific skills.

Mrs. McGuire
Specialized Academic Instructor

Hello, my name is Geneva McGuire.
This is my ninth year teaching in the field of special education. This is my sixth year teaching for SVUSD and tenth year teaching. Previously I taught at an ACSI accredited international school in South America and at the Saugus Union School District. Through the years I have worked mild-severe classrooms, RSP, and Learning Centers. I love my job and my students. I believe in a team approach. It takes a community to educate our children and I am here to help build and grow that community for the upper grade students of MViT. Please know that my hope is to be an advocate and a help for your child and family. Looking forward to an amazing year! 2022-2023 here we come!!!
